ABA Continuing Education Legal Credits
CLE Credits
All attorneys from all states will need to sign the “Standard Attendance Sheet.” This document will be located at the continuing education booth in the registration area of the conference center. All attorneys seeking CLE credits must sign this sheet to qualify for continuing education credits. After signing the “Standard Attendance Sheet” attorneys will then be given a copy of the “Uniform Certificate of Attendance.” New York and Delaware licensed participants are required to sign-in and sign-out on a special attendance sheet at each approved CLE session. In addition, from the continuing education booth, attorneys from Pennsylvania will need to obtain a copy of the Pennsylvania CLE Credit Request Form while attorneys from Texas will need to pick up a special scanner card.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
ICMA will again be offering Continuing Education Credits to American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) professionals. When attending a session at the Brownfields 2009 conference ASCE professionals must sign in at each event - the appropriate sign in sheet will be in the back of every Brownfields 2009 session room. At the beginning of the conference, participants pick up a CEC certificate from the Continuing Education Kiosk at Registration. Participants sign in at each session they attend and keep track of their attendance on the certificate. ICMA will keep the sign in sheet and submit it to ASCE while the ASCE professional keeps the certificate.
Alabama Real Estate Educational Credits
The Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) requires its licensees to participate each year in 15 hours of continuing education – 12 hours in approved elective courses. AREC is honoring the Louisiana Real Estate Commission’s (LREC) continuing education credits at this year’s Brownfields 2009. Real Estate professionals from Alabama must fill out Louisiana’s Continuing Education Seminar Course Schedule (RF-3 Form), which they can obtain from the continuing education booth in the registration area. In addition, they will need a copy of Louisiana’s approval letter to ICMA. Alabama licensees must attend a minimum of six educational sessions at the conference to receive credits and must sign in at each approved session they attend, so that attendance can be reported to the state real estate boards. Sign in sheets will be available at the back of the session rooms. Visit the continuing education booth to pick up your certificate of completion at the end of the conference. Please see the list of LREC-approved sessions.
Louisanana Real Estate Educational Credits
The mission of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission is to serve and protect the public interest in real estate transactions and other real estate related activities. Continuing education is one of the tools used to carry out that mission. In accordance with R.S. 37:1437.C(6)(a)(i), the annual continuing education requirement is twelve (12) hours. You can satisfy 6 hours at the National Brownfields Conference! You must attend a minimum of six educational sessions at the conference to receive your credits. Be sure to visit the continuing education kiosk at registration as there will be a form for you to fill out.

Texas Real Estate Commission TREC Credits
The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requires its real estate professionals to acquire 15 classroom hours (6 hours of which are the approved Legal Update & Ethics MCE courses) of Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) to be completed during their license renewal period. TREC will honor approved CLE credit by the State Bar of Texas that comply to the Rules of the Commission. Please note that state bar credit does not meet with the legal courses mandated by TREC – this credit applies only to the MCE elective credit. See Brownfields 2009 “ABA Continuing Education Legal Credits – CLE Credits” for offered ABA courses. Texas real estate professionals must complete the TREC Form MCE 12-2 (copies will be available at the continuing education booth in the registration hall), as well as sign in at each approved session they attend, and obtain a course completion certificate from the continuing education booth in the registration hall.
