Robin Smith and Heather Warren from Brownfields sponsor ESRI presented their Business Analyst Online (BAO) program this morning. BAO uses GIS to assess a site, but becomes truly innovative with the incorporation of demographic, consumer spending, and business data to help understand the site's surrounding market. The combination of these two elements allows potential investors to more thoroughly understand the current and potential business landscape, including the density, buying habits, and lifestyle of the nearby community. This makes the program valuable throughout the brownfield development process.
One of the key benefits of BOA is the ease with which you can customize maps to understand nuanced conditions. Users have access to the site 24 hours a day and can adjust a wide range of variables to get the information they need on a specific site and/or its surrounding market.
Learn more about BAO by visiting http://www.esri.com/bao or swinging by the ESRI booth in the exhibit hall.
