The Poster Gallery has received its first poster submission from the next generation of brownfields redevelopment leaders. Ten-year old Alexandra L. Sutherlin with Woodvale Elementary in Lafayette, Louisiana, has submitted a poster and display presentation, "Brownfields: Pollution to Playground." The poster discusses the impact brownfields projects can have on the economy, and the display shows a brownfields site before clean-up and what it could look like after clean-up. The site was based on an actual one from Phoenix, Arizona. Alexandra is youngest person ever to submit a poster presentation for the conference.
For others interested in displaying information on their brownfields redevelopment projects or new technologies being used for clean-up efforts, be sure to check out the submission requirements on the Poster Gallery webpage. Or contact Cory Fleming at or 207-854-1083 for more information. Submissions for the Poster Gallery are due by Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
