Information for Brownfields 2008 Speakers

Thank you for volunteering your time and knowledge to the Brownfields 2008 conference. This letter will provide you with some extra information about the conference and hopefully answer any questions you have. 

Registration

When you arrive at Brownfields 2008 head over to the speaker registration booths to pick up your badge and registration bag. Make sure that you request a “speaker” ribbon.  Additionally, if you are with an exhibiting firm, please request an exhibitor’s ribbon as well.

Handouts

In an attempt to further green the conference this year we are recommending that presenters limit the number of handouts they bring to the conference.  Please see our greening tips for presenters for more information.  If you are planning to make copies onsite there is a business center in Cobo Center, the session monitors and conference organizers cannot make copies for you.

Speaker Ready Room

Room D3-24 has been designated the speaker ready room.  You will be able to meet with your fellow speakers before your session to discuss your game plan and go over any last minute changes.

Information for panel session speakers

Panel sessions at Brownfields 2008 are comprised of 10-15 presentations by each speakers and time at the end for questions and answers. Please bring your presentations on a thumb drive or CD and the session monitor in the room will help you upload the presentations to the provided laptop.  Be sure to have a backup copy just in case!

Panel session rooms are equipped with

·         Laptop computer

·         LCD projector

·         Projection screen

·         One table microphone for every two speakers at speakers table

·         One wireless lavaliere microphone at podium

·         Standing microphone for audience members in larger rooms (200+)

·         A table in the back for handouts

Information for marketplace roundtable speakers

Marketplace roundtables are a discussion driven format.  Facilitators lead the dialogue with the audience.  There is no AV equipment in the rooms.

Marketplace roundtable rooms are equipped with

·         A lapel microphone

·         An audience microphone

·         One flip chart with markers

·         A table in the back for handouts

Additional Information for Session Moderators

In each session room you will find a short list of talking point to read before the session begins.  These include information on continuing education credits and evaluations for your session.

After the conference

Be on the look out for a cost share form to help us keep track of your in-kind contribution to the conference.  This information helps us demonstrate the enormous amount of effort volunteers put into making this conference a success.  We will also have these forms available at the conference if you would like to fill it out onsite, just stop speaker registration and request one.
